About the Course

This regulated, and nationally recognised qualification is ideal for those looking to work or volunteer as a first responder and forms the first step towards a career in a range of pre-hospital care roles.

The First Response Emergency Care course covers the full range of skills required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for first aid and is the leading qualification for events cover.
Among the first to arrive at a scene, first responders typically include police officers, firefighters and those providing medical cover at festivals and events such as Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, Close Protection Operatives and Security Guards as well as those working in high-risk environments including the military, power stations, agriculture, and manufacturing.

First Response Emergency Care

This informative, hands-on 5-day course fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D, providing the knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with a range of pre-hospital emergency care situations. The course covers administration of emergency oxygen, management of trauma patients, major illnesses and much more.
